🌯 Middle Eastern Falafel
Crispy, golden-brown falafel balls made from chickpeas, herbs, and spices, served with a tangy tahini sauce.
Ingredients
- 400 grams chickpeas
- 1 onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 30 grams parsley
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 30 grams flour
- 250 millilitres oil
- 100 millilitres tahini
- 50 millilitres lemon juice
- 50 millilitres water
- 4 pieces pita bread
- 100 grams lettuce
- 2 tomatoes
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine chickpeas, onion, garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, baking powder, salt, and flour. Pulse until a coarse mixture forms.
- Shape the mixture into small, round falafel balls (about 1-inch diameter).
- Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Fry falafel balls in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- For the tahini sauce, mix tahini, lemon juice, and water until smooth.
- Serve falafel with tahini sauce, pita bread, lettuce, and sliced tomatoes.
