Alessi Spaghetti Sauce: The King of Commercial Pasta Sauces
It’s tough to find a really good pasta sauce in stores. Most of the brands out there are just generic, tasteless blends of tomato paste and other cheap, flavorless ingredients. Even if you attempt to add your own spices, these jarred sauces are just so bad that they’re not even redeemable. That’s why I got really excited when I found out about the Alessi brand. They claim to use all-natural ingredients (including: freshly picked tomatoes, basil, and the very important olive oil) for many of their products. I thought surely this would lead to a very nice sauce.
Well, guess what… I was right! Alessi marinara spaghetti sauce is very tasty indeed. The fresher and higher quality ingredients really make a huge difference when compared to other store bought sauces. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t think Alessi can replace those really good, homemade spaghetti sauces your parents or grandparents use to make, but it is one of the best available jarred sauces in supermarkets today. It does come at a price, of course. The majority of Alessi pasta sauces go for about $6 at most grocery stores that I’ve seen, although that will vary based on shipping. Despite this, I very much feel that the quality is worth the price on this one and would be very much worth a try for any busy cook with a family.
Another great thing about the Alessi brand is their variety. Their marinara comes in three different variations alone, smooth, chunky and organic. For those who like pasta on the spicier side, the puttanesca sauce would be for you. For those of you looking to be healthier, Alessi features very little sodium compared to other tomato sauces on the market at 420mg per half cup serving. There’s also a good amount of calcium and vitamin C in there as well.
For me, Alessi spaghetti sauces are definitively worth the price they command. The fresh ingredients make all the difference in the world and there’s nothing stopping you from adding your own if you so choose. Coupled along with the variety and nutritional value, I’d highly recommend Alessi for their sauces and as a company.
